Dale Denton (Seth Rogen), a marijuana smoking process server is smoking a join when he witnesses a dirty cop murdered in the house of the city's biggest drug dealer. Shocked, he drops his joint by the side walk and quickly drives away to the house of his weed dealer Saul Silver (James Franco) who claimed that the joint he was smoking was a rare breed called "Pineapple Express" and that only one person supplies that in the whole city. It just so happens to be the murderous drug-lord that Dale saw in the house.
